Campaign for Wool

HRH The Prince Charles launched the Campaign for Wool, a global initiative to promote the benefits of wool as a sustainable and natural fibre.

Funding for the campaign is being provided by the major wool marketing bodies around the world and includes British Wool, New Zealand Wool, Australian Wool, American wool and now Viking Wool from Norway. Interior Design professionals more than most understand the versatility of British wool which is predominantly used in insulation, for interior carpets and upholstery, curtains and bedding and with surprisingly only 15% used for clothing! But there is more to be done to raise the profile and uses of wool which is why The Society of British Interior Design (SBID) has been appointed to represent the Interior Design Industry in this major five year initiative.

This global campaign will include many leading retailers, magazines and manufacturers. A specially designed logo will be used for the project, and whilst there will be regulations regarding the use of these, they will not be too onerous.

Register your interest in this international campaign, and apply for the use of the Wool logo for your company.
