Professional Member:

A full member of SBID, shall comply with minimum education standards as follows:
  • A minimum training of 6 years
  • 4 years qualified degree course- in accordance with the European Charter of Interior Architecture Training and 2 years of professional practice in an interior designers or architects office, or as a self-employed interior designer, proven by employers recommendation letter or by portfolio
  • 3 years qualified degree course- in accordance with the European Charter of Interior Architecture Training and 3.5 years of professional practice in an interior designers or architects office, or as a self-employed interior designer, proven by employers recommendation letter or by portfolio
  • In the case of insufficient education, 1.5 year of professional practice substitutes each year of missed education, proven by employer’s recommendation letter or by portfolio and checked by an admission committee of the national organisation.

In addition all members must sign the code of conduct, professional ethics and a commitment to be adequately insured to practice.
